Goal Setting That Leads to Results
Turn vague intentions into a clear, scheduled, trackable one-page goal plan you can execute immediately.
This course helps you stop spinning on unfinished goals and start making visible progress. You will choose one focus goal, define it clearly with success conditions and constraints, then break it into milestones and doable next steps.
You’ll build a realistic weekly action plan that fits your actual calendar, including priorities, buffers, and fallback options when life gets in the way.
By the end, you’ll have a complete personal goal plan with tracking metrics, a weekly review routine, and an accountability approach you can sustain for the next 7 and 30 days.
What You'll Learn
Requirements
- A single goal idea you are willing to work on during the week (personal, academic, or professional)
- Access to a calendar you actually use (digital or paper)
- A simple way to track a few numbers (notes app, spreadsheet, habit tracker, or paper)
- Willingness to schedule at least two focused work blocks of 30 to 120 minutes during the week
Description
Most people set goals by naming an outcome and hoping motivation carries them. This course uses results-based goal setting, a practical method that treats your goal like a manageable project with clear definitions, steps, a time-based plan, and consistent tracking.
You will start by establishing a baseline, identifying patterns that derail you, and selecting one focus goal with the right scope for one-week execution. Then you will define the goal in a testable format, connect it to personal meaning with a purpose statement, and specify success conditions, outcome, quality, and verification, plus realistic constraints.
Next, you will build a path to done by creating milestones, deliverables, and mini-deadlines, then breaking work into tasks and immediately doable next actions. You will estimate effort versus duration, identify bottlenecks and dependencies, and define minimum viable progress so you can keep momentum during busy periods.
Finally, you will turn your plan into a real weekly calendar with Weekly Big 3 priorities, time blocks, buffers, and fallback options. You will choose leading and lagging indicators, schedule a 20-minute weekly review, plan for obstacles with if-then rules, and select an accountability method you will actually maintain. The course ends with a complete one-page personal goal plan and next steps for the next 7 and 30 days.
